Vivitrol

Serenity Treatment Center, Inc. was one of first outpatient facilities in Frederick to offer vivitrol along with treatment.

We have administered thousands of injections over the years to clients with great success in maintaining sobriety.  VIVITROL injections provided on site by Registered Nurse.

VIVITROL is a non-addictive, once-monthly treatment injection proven to help treat alcohol and opioid dependent clients when used with counseling. The active ingredient in VIVITROL® (naltrexone for extended-release injectable suspension) — naltrexone — works as a “blocker.” It attaches to certain opioid receptors in your brain and blocks the feelings associated with taking opioids and/or drinking alcohol.

VIVITROL is different than suboxone or methadone, it is non habit forming and is not an Opiate, in fact it works opposite to opiates.

VIVITROL is available to enrolled clients and also individuals in the community, call for more details.

**If individuals are not quite ready for Vivitrol, there are other options that the RN can discuss such as an innovative device called The Bridge, or an oral medication called Lucemyra.  For more information, please contact either office and ask for Christine.

Vivitrol and Lucemyra are covered by most insurances including MD Medicaid.
